Sharjah Al Qasba Project Attracts 1.3 Million Tourists This Year

Al Qasba's tourism, cultural and entertainment project, located in the administrative center of Sharjah, has attracted 1.3 million visitors since the beginning of this year.

Ahmad Obaid Al Kassir, Shurooq’s Chief Operating Officer, Sharjah’s Office of Investment and Development, has linked the growing demand for leisure activities for residents and visitors to the emirate, which offer a variety of cultural and aesthetic development programs for the whole family. “We have developed a rich program to ensure the comfort and convenience of guests,” he said. Al Kassir also said that, along with the implementation of other investment projects in the emirate, the role of Al Qasba in the tourist promotion of the region continues to grow. "We made a bet on family tourism, and did not lose," the representative of the department explained. It is worth recalling that Al Qasba, which occupies 10 thousand hectares of land, hosts on its territory modern tourist, entertainment, cultural and business centers, which have become an integral part of the emirate and its main attraction. Pleasure boats run along the artificial canal connected to the Khalid and Al Khan lagoons. The UAE’s largest ferris wheel, the Eye of the Emirates, the Maraya art center and the Masrah Al Qasba Theater with a capacity of 300 spectators, where concerts, poetry evenings and films are shown, are also located here.
