TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM RUSSIA TAKE PRIZES ON THE RESULTS OF THE HIPA PHOTO COMPETITION, KNOWN BY THE BIGGEST PRIZE FUND - US $ 400 THOUSAND, which is held annually under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The awarding ceremony of the fifth season of the HIPA International Competition was held in Dubai on March 14, with Happiness as its main theme. This season, the winners were selected in the categories "Happiness", "Wildlife", "Father and Son", as well as in the general category. 80 thousand photos from 137 countries were sent to the contest, which is 20 thousand more photos than in the previous year. The main prize of the competition and a reward of US $ 120 thousand was received by Antonio Aragon Renuncio for a picture of children playing with old tires in one of the villages in Africa. Photographer from Russia Sergey Ponomarev took third place in the Happiness category with a prize fund of US $ 15 thousand, and Russian Vladimir Vyatkin took third place in the general category with a prize fund of US $ 10 thousand.
