In Dubai, a fraudster lured victims of luxury cars

In Dubai, a serial fraudster who deceived the owners of luxury cars was detained.

In Dubai, a man was arrested who purchased luxury cars under unsecured checks.

The suspect contacted sellers who advertised on the Internet. He convinced them that he was going to buy a car and immediately offered a high price. He always paid by check, and he did it on Thursday afternoon, so that the seller could not cash the check on the same day. When the vehicle was drawn up in the name of the suspect, he turned off his mobile phone. The seller, as a rule, found out about fraud at the bank the next business day,

According to police, eight complaints were filed against the suspect. He had previously been sentenced to three years in prison for a similar crime. The police lured the suspect into a trap and arrested him.

General Yussef Al Adidi, director of the police station who detained him, said that the police managed to resolve 1,429 cases with unsecured checks for 144 million dirhams ($ US 39 million).

"Most of the cases are related to commercial and real estate transactions," he explained.
