Flydubai Flight Delayed Due to Bird Collision

On Tuesday, Flydubai's flight was delayed by almost seven hours after a bird collision while landing in Sri Lanka.

After a bird collision, a flight from Flydubai was delayed while landing at Sri Lanka airport.

According to a Flydubai spokesman, flight FZ551 on a Boeing 737-800 collided with a bird landing at Mattala Rajapaksa Airport in southeast Sri Lanka.

“As a result, the return flight from Mattala to Dubai was delayed for 6 hours and 42 minutes, and refreshments and snacks were provided to passengers at the airport terminal,” the spokesman for the airline added.

"We apologize to the passengers for the inconvenience."

In Sri Lanka, Flydubai departs from Mattala Airport and from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport near the country's capital.
