Dubai Airports Provides Premium Service During Expo 2020

The operator of two international airports in Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, pledging to serve passengers during the exhibition in the best possible way.

Dubai Airports, operator of Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bureau Dubai Expo 2020. Under the terms of the agreement, the company is committed to providing a world-class experience for the millions of guests who will visit Dubai during the event.

Under the agreement, Dubai Airports, together with the Expo team, will create such conditions at the airports that will set the tone for visitors and attract transfer passengers to stay in Dubai. In addition, as part of the DXB Plus program, the operator will reduce queues, accelerate, and improve the quality of service at airports.

Rome Al Hashimi, UAE Minister for International Cooperation and Director General of the Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, warmly welcomed the memorandum of understanding, saying: “Modern Dubai is built on the power of ties. Dubai's airports serve as an example, and the theme of Expo 2020, “Combining Thoughts, Creating the Future,” fully meets this. The Expo will receive the largest number of foreign visitors in the history of the World Expo, and helping Dubai Airports meet these visitors and provide them with a first impression of this extraordinary city is extremely important. ”

Paul Griffiths, executive director of Dubai Airports, for his part, commented on the latest news as follows: “We are always looking for ways to increase the level of experience for millions of customers who travel through our airports every year. Our collaboration with Bureau Dubai Expo 2020 can be considered another step forward, as we are responsible for conveying the spirit of Expo 2020 already at the airport with the quality of service for travelers from all over the world that are expected from Dubai. ”

Dubai Airports recently launched two major projects, which are designed to become the basis for future projects in the framework of Expo-2020. The concept of DXB Plus aims to provide a personalized service and increase throughput to 118 million by 2023 without making significant changes to the infrastructure.

Under the second program, the building of the DWC passenger terminal will be substantially expanded so that the airport will be able to serve 26 million passengers compared to the current 5 million by the end of next year.
