Arab Emirates - the happiest country in the GCC region

The United Nations published The First World Happiness Report, which recognized the United Arab Emirates as the happiest country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). In the list of all countries of the world, the state of the UAE takes 17th place.

The population of this small country in the Middle East is more likely to be alive than the citizens of countries such as Britain, Germany and Hong Kong. Neighboring Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait took 26th, 29th and 31st places in the ranking, respectively.

Denmark was awarded the title of the happiest country in the world, followed by Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and Canada. The worst living conditions have been created on the African continent: in Togo, Benin, Central Africa and Sierra Leone. In the Middle East, Yemen, Afghanistan and Palestine are recognized as the most unhappy, the report said.

Among the factors of "happiness" were evaluated such as general well-being, the mood of the inhabitants, people's attitudes in society and the quality of health care.
