Please tell me why you decided to release your own perfume? And why now?
I was always obsessed with love for perfumes and for many years I wanted to create something of my own, one that could become a reflection of my inner world, but at the same time, that would have a bearing on the people around me.
What prompted you to such a name - “Truth or Dare”? It seems that “Truth or Dare” was also called the film, shot during the tour “Blond Ambition” (“Blonde Ambitions”). What does this idea mean to you?
The name “Truth or Dare” (Truth or Challenge) was born under the influence of the duality inherent in each of us.
We live in a world of contradictions that either push or pull us somewhere. It is under this pressure that we begin to know ourselves. Therefore, “Truth or Dare” is a kind of push, aimed at emphasizing our true duality.
What part did you personally take in the implementation of this project? In the creation of aroma, bottle, packaging?
I was involved in all stages of the implementation of this venture, from the search for the direction of aroma and bottle design to the advertising campaign and merchandising. I worked one on one with the perfumer until the resulting aromatic liquid became the same as I had imagined from the very beginning. Everything else was also created in close collaboration with the entire team involved. The result is exactly what was intended.
During your career you had to work with many artists, and perfumers, in general, are the same artists, only in their field. Tell us, how did this cooperation develop with you?
I met with perfumer Steven Nielsen, and we started trying all possible combinations of fragrances. From the very beginning, we knew exactly which main notes we wanted to use, but the question of how to combine them best was a stumbling block. Fortunately, we both reacted to the project as a work on a work of art, to something that was constantly changing, gradually turning into a masterpiece.
When you created a fragrant combination, did you have to turn to someone for advice or opinion? If so, to whom?
We spent a lot of time testing aromatic mixtures on our own skin, since each person "wears" perfume in his own way. It was important for me that my loved ones like the fragrance as much as I do. Daughter Lourdes was the most severe critic, in this she is like me: she knows exactly what she wants and what she likes and tries to achieve that the result is close to ideal. I sprayed new perfumes on my friends and colleagues. Nobody escaped from me!
You are known to like certain flowers. What is special about the floral notes used in “Truth or Dare”? How would you describe the resulting fragrance?
I would say that the perfume turned out with a characteristic floral bouquet for true gourmets. It is composed of rare stupefying flowers, attractive woody chords and a few drops of vanilla, which makes the aroma classic and at the same time modern, light and dark at the same time.
What was the inspiration for choosing a location for shooting an advertising campaign?
We have been collaborating with Fabien Baron for many years. He is well acquainted with my susceptibility, so we both understood what the advertising campaign should look like. The inspiration for us was all the same duality and the struggle of opposites: light and darkness, vices and charms, spiritual and sinful ....
How do you define beauty for yourself?
Beauty comes from within. This is knowledge of self. Beauty is what you make of yourself, of course. Beauty is authenticity.
What is your favorite beauty secret?
Self-confidence. Self-awareness.
What does your personal "beauty ritual" consist of?
First, a person must take care of his body. Everything is important - skin, hair, general health. It is necessary to exercise and eat right. Do daily jogging. A person can’t just smear a lot of cosmetics on himself and call it beauty. Every day you need to start from scratch.
What do you do daily, barely waking up?
I thank God for living.
Are there any means that you always carry with you?
Yes. It is a lip balm, a refreshing spray for the face and perfume.
How do you feel when applying perfume? Do you always use a certain aroma or do you have a collection of perfumes for a certain mood or occasion?
Perfume “Truth or Dare” is the culmination of my favorite fragrances, because all my life I have preferred various versions of perfumes containing the ingredients that I like best: gardenia, jasmine or tuberose.
