Dubai police conducted 23 rescue operations on the beaches in 2012

Last year, 23 incidents were recorded on the beaches of Dubai, two of which resulted in casualties. According to the Dubai police, the situation on the beaches has improved significantly compared to 2011, when 64 incidents were recorded, and one person drowned.

Last year, the largest number of accidents occurred in March, April and July. In total, 24 people were injured, 13 more - minor injuries. Two people drowned. In 2013, the Dubai police intends to increase the number of patrols in crowded places and raise awareness among bathers by all possible means.

Among the main causes of drowning are inability to swim, sudden muscle spasms, non-compliance with safety regulations and strong undercurrents in some coastal zones of the Persian Gulf. The police call if necessary, immediately call the rescue service 999, and in case of insufficient swimming skills - use life jackets and circles.
