What's new?

More than 50 galleries from around the world, discussions and training seminars, poetry evenings and acquaintance with the Emirate culture - all this awaits visitors to the fifth Abu Dhabi Art festival, from November 20 to 23, in the Manarat Saadiyat pavilion in Abu Dhabi.

This year, Abu Dhabi Art will present participants and visitors a combination of traditional and contemporary art with street performance and desert poetry. So, cultural tours will be organized for guests - on buses and boats, a series of performances will be held on the island of Saadiyat, poems will be recited directly on the beach. A separate section will be devoted to the emirate's cultural heritage.

Also, one of the thematic sections will be Durub Al Tawaya (literally from Arabic - a stopover while traveling in the desert, in search of underground water sources). Egyptian artist Vail Shawki, together with curator Tarek Abu Il Fetuh, will talk about the traditions of the Bedouins and the chanting of camels - symbols of the desert - in poetry. In the pavilion "Manarat" a traditional market will unfold. Emirate designers will present designer furniture, textiles, jewelry and craft products.

More than fifty galleries from around the world will demonstrate achievements in the field of painting, sculpture, design, video installations and related art forms. The annual interactive component of the festival - "Art, Conversations and Sensations" - will return with a program of performances "Dunes and Waves" with the participation of foreign artists - Chassol and Alexandrina Leclair and Julia Fruchon. The French curator Fabrique Bustou organizes two expositions - "Small is Fine", where he will present miniature works, and "Waves of Art". According to Rita Aun Abdo, representing the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Committee, the current festival will demonstrate a high degree of maturity of the art site of the capital of the UAE.

It will not only combine art with everyday life, but will also attract a large number of international guests, offering them a special look at the city.
