UAE Dirham is divided into 100 fils. Common abbreviations are AED or DHS. The dirham course is approximately 3.67 per US dollar. Tourists do not have problems with currency exchange: there are a large number of exchange points in the country.

Almost all trading enterprises accept for payment the currency of different countries and credit cards. On the streets, in banks, in supermarkets, there are many ATMs that work with all payment systems: American Express, MasterCard, Visa and others.

Most of the population of the UAE is made up of immigrants from other countries, therefore, at each corner you can freely exchange the currency of India, the Philippines, as well as euros, pounds and money from all countries of the Middle East for dirhams. However, the best option for today is US dollars, which in the UAE are still more popular than other types of currency. It’s definitely not worth carrying banknotes of the CIS countries, the exception is only the Russian ruble, which can be exchanged for dirhams at some large exchange points. Unused dirhams can be exchanged back without problems.
