Sand Barrier Generals

CONCERNING THE DESERT BY VARIOUS WAYS IS CONSIDERED IN THE EMIRATES OF SOME SOMETHING OF NATIONAL SPORTS, FOR THE WHOLE BARCHANS ARE SURROUNDED BY HATCH OASIS CITIES FROM ALL PARTIES.

At the current level of technological development, desert safaris are no longer frightened by the opportunity to stay in the dunes forever, but courage and determination are still worth it.

The brutal charm of adventures in the desert came to us from the movie screen, on which Lawrence of Arabia plowed the sands with the Rollsroys armor and was slightly unrefined. IF YOU LEAVE THE FIRING SUN AND THIRD FOR THE BRACKETS, THE DESERT WILL BE UNUSUALLY BEAUTIFUL AND DIFFERENT, DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF THE YEAR AND DAY. SO VARIOUS AND DESERT ENTERTAINMENT.

Dune bashing

Popular among fans of organized recreation, desert raids on off-road vehicles (Dune Bashing), as a rule, include other interesting options, such as sunsurfing or ATV racing. Among the organizers of such excursions, Sadarf Sarv Travel is the leader. A caravan of a dozen seven-seat "landcruisers" picks up passengers at hotels and sets off for Dubai's Al Badayer or Al Awir deserts. Time is calculated so as to be in the desert at sunset - at this time it is especially good. Dubai’s deserted nature reserve is cut through by extremely civilized highways, but many vast “adrenaline plantations” remain between them.

The stony plains are replaced by high dunes, moving off the asphalt, the drivers slightly blow off the wheels and the real Dakar rally begins. At high speed, SUVs are raising clouds of orange sand, jumping from the dunes like springboards, moving sideways down the slope and again storming the dunes with the full power of their eight-cylinder engines, all-wheel drive and 60-watt stereo speakers broadcasting energetic Muslim hardcore. Sophisticated people are advised to get into the host car - its driver, as a rule, is the main stuntman - and doesn’t eat anything before the raid, as it cripples much.

In the Rub-el-Khali desert approaching Abu Dhabi, the dunes are no less high. You can also stumble freely in the desert of Al-Haznah. The best time for 4x4 adventure here is considered the season from September to May. Individual travelers can also rent an SUV suitable for sand rallying. Both “hummers” and good old “gelendvagens” are suitable for desert safaris - they, in fact, were created for this 40 years ago. But in the case of an indie trip, it is advisable for the driver to undergo special training at one of the local travel companies and put together a group of at least three cars. Going to the desert alone is strictly not recommended.

ABU DHABI DESERT CHALLENGE

Their "Dakar" is in the Emirates. It is held annually and is called the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The next five-day race of SUVs and motorcycles starts on March 26, 2015. The main organizer of the competition is the FIA Vice President Mohammed bin Sulayem, in addition to local sponsor companies, the race is supported by Nissan and TAG Heuer brands.

DUBAI OFFROAD ADVENTURE SHOW

The Dubai Offroad Adventure Show festival, which will be held for the first time this year and will be organized at the famous Dubai Circuit, will bring obvious benefits to lovers of all-wheel drive caravans. The interior of the 5.39-kilometer racing loop, previously occupied by parking lots and a stunted saxaul, will be transformed into a compact desert with dunes and an obstacle course. Off-road vehicles, ATVs and cross-country motorbikes can climb the slopes here, overcome fords, crawl holes along logs, longitudinal and transverse. The festival will take place on November 6-8 and promises to be not only a spectacular event, but also a good school for those who choose off-road equipment to conquer the desert.

On your own

The 300-meter dune Tel Moreeb of Tel Moreeb in El Gabria (Liva desert, Abu Dhabi) is considered the highest in the world, the steepness of the slopes here reaches 50 °. This is a favorite place for extreme people, local and more. On New Year's Eve, a week-long festival of downhill racing on ATVs and Enduro bikes is organized here. An extensive camp is set up at the foot of the festival days, where participants and spectators of the competitions are offered a choice of the whole palette of local entertainment, including hookah, camel riding and falconry.

Here, in the oasis of Liva, you can rent an analog of a winter snowboard to go down the slope of one of the nearest dunes. There are no lifts on these slopes yet, but the variety of routes for beginners and professionals is almost the same as in Aspen, Val d'Isere and Krasnaya Polyana combined. The desert ski season opens in September and closes in May. The best time for sand slalom is early morning, sun protection with a resistance of at least 30 units is an obligatory part of the equipment.

Overnight in the so-called “Bedouin camps” is a separate item on the desert entertainment list, and among these oasis lost in the sand, the Knigh Camp (Knight Tours) in Dubai and the Bassata Village in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah are worthy of special attention. The political credo of these not the cheapest parking lots is authenticity. Settling down on Persian rugs under awnings of goat hair at the foot of a slope covered with banyan trees, travelers can count on meat and bread cooked in an underground oven, the warmth of the hearth, an entertaining program with belly dancing and pleasant music from a DJ, a bar with a rich selection of drinks and the skill of the hookah sommelier. It is also worth noting that such "villages" are equipped with plumbing and sewage, overnight costs 190 dirhams, it includes an evening barbecue, a toothbrush and breakfast buffet.

The main triumph of the conquerors of the desert "for two" this year is scheduled for October 17. On this day, in a place that is so far kept secret, the Desert Warrior Challenge international competitions will be held. Racing with obstacles in the most severe conditions, more typical for army special forces than for normal, albeit abusing fitness people, have recently become fashionable. The Australians set the tone for the 2012 Tough Mudder Survival Race. This was followed by the Pan-European Spartan Race obstacle marathon and a similar Warrior Dash in the USA. This year, the project finally paid tribute to the Arabian Peninsula.

In the Desert Warrior Challenge, you can participate alone or pre-"pack in flocks" on the corresponding site. The entry fee is about 400 dirhams, both men and women are allowed to compete, everyone can pre-train under the guidance of experienced instructors. Participants will find a distance of several kilometers along the burning hot sand and 24 obstacles, of which crawling under a coarse mesh will seem the easiest. DWC Director Troy Gilliam assures that he has agreed on the security conditions of the event with the local Sports Committee and the Civil Defense Council. Serious trials in extremely difficult conditions will be crowned with special club awards and a unique feeling that surpassed ordinary human capabilities.

Bird's-eye

The Arabian proverb says that the stars in the night desert of a stranger can easily drive crazy with their beauty. In no way inferior in terms of emotional impact flying over the desert in a balloon. From above, as the song says, everything is visible even in the smallest details: the edge of the sea, motorways with cars, caravans of camels and SUVs, emerald green oases and bizarre bends of dunes.

UAE desert air cruises are operated by Baloon Adventures. A ball with a gondola for up to 25 people rises from the Skydive site, which is only half an hour from the center of Dubai along highway 66. Nearby is a national reserve where camels, oryxes and gazelles graze. The journey usually begins before dawn, as its main goal is to catch a fantastically beautiful sunrise. This is also the best time for aeronautics, taking into account local climatic conditions. The same conditions determine the schedule of air navigation - from mid-September to the end of May. 10 years of work of Baloon Adventures in the Emirates have already managed to decorate two Guinness records - here in October 2013 25 parachutists jumped from the gondola of the ball, and a month later the company’s fleet replenished the largest stratospheric balloon in the region. Balloon flight lasts about an hour. The price (not more than a thousand dirhams for an adult, children - even less) includes transfer from the hotel and cold snacks. The ball is run by experienced pilots certified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (IKAO). Australian owner Peter Collar, Baloon Adventures, is not averse to heading the flight himself - it was from his basket that parachutists-champions jumped. In addition to group excursion departures, the organizers also offer charters on an individual route. Weddings, anniversaries, corporate parties - all this is somehow fresher and more acute in the surroundings of adventures a la Jules Verne, in a wicker basket under the dome, which, by the way, can be decorated with your own logo.
