Cinema Akil will screen the film "Cold War" by the Polish director and laureate of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival Pavel Pavlikovsky from October 19 to 30. The plot is based on a love story between a man and a woman of different origin and temperament, which are deadly incompatible and yet doomed to be together.
Poland, 1949. Victor (Tomash Kot), a talented musician, on behalf of the party is gaining young talents for the folk song and dance ensemble through the villages destroyed by the war. One of the recruits is Zula (Yoanna Kulig), a blonde with a beautiful voice, direct manners and a look of death that promises destruction. Plus, she is said to have a criminal record for a knife thrust into her own father. But Zula sings "Heart, you do not want peace", and Victor, indeed, can forget about peace.
Pavel Pavlikovsky painted this love journey with many dangerous twists and turns for two decades. Here, Poland of the 50s meets with Berlin during the Cold War, Paris of the 60s and sunny Yugoslavia - all of them become the scenery of the story about those who cannot live together and do not want to separate.
