Yas Island in the UAE invites everyone to search for pearls

Yas Island organizes expeditions inspired by the rich heritage of the United Arab Emirates.

Yas Island, a leading center for leisure and entertainment in the United Arab Emirates, has announced the launch of the Serdal Pearl Diving Expedition, which pays tribute to the rich past of the nation and allows you to experience unforgettable emotions from the traditional art of diving for pearls.

The nearly six-hour program is named after the title awarded to the most experienced captain. Based on the experience of the emirate’s families, Serdal Pearl Diving aims to preserve this important episode of the emirate’s heritage and provide an opportunity to return to the golden age of the UAE.

Sailors set sail on a traditional dhow boat from Yas Marina to the diving site. On board they will be accompanied by stories and traditional songs. Participants are taught traditional methods of pearl mining and diving in the depths of the Arabian Gulf. Members of the expedition will also be taught methods of mining hidden treasures.

The new Serdal Pearl Diving program has no age limit. Expeditions are organized every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 13:30. Light snacks are available throughout the tour. Each participant will return home with their precious pearl.

The cost of participation in the expedition starts from 500 dirhams ($ US 136) for adults and 250 dirhams ($ US 68) for children aged 8 to 12 years. Children under 8 years are admitted to the expedition for free. You can reserve a seat on board at [email protected] and by phone +971 (0) 54 445 5515.
