Annual rate of precipitation falls in UAE per day

Strong summer showers with thunderstorms hit a number of areas in the UAE.

Dubai, UAE. Last weekend, heavy rain with thunderstorms fell on the oasis city of Al Ain. Almost immediately, social networks were flooded with photos and videos from flooded streets.

In addition to Al Ain, Kalba, Korfakkan and Fujairah suffered from heavy rainstorms. In the country as a whole, according to weather forecasters, 86.6 mm of precipitation fell with an average annual rate of less than 100 mm.

The National Center for Meteorology explained that the cyclone came from India. In the summer, on the southern shores of Arabia, the Karif rainy season, well known to the inhabitants of the mountainous regions of Oman, sets its authority.
