In the United Arab Emirates, parents whose actions endanger the life of their child are facing a fine of one million dirhams and a prison term of 10 years.
A person who is responsible for causing death or threatening the life of a child as a result of leaving him in a locked vehicle in the UAE may be punished with a fine of up to one million dirhams ($ US 272.25 thousand) and imprisonment for at least 10 years .
The offense is subject to the UAE Law on the Rights of the Child.
Human rights activists from the United Arab Emirates reminded of the severe punishment amid a series of incidents this month that led to tragic consequences.
