UAE first issued child birth certificate for Hindu and Muslim women

The couple, Kieran Babu and Sanan Sabu Sidiki, married Kerala in 2016. Since arriving in the UAE in 2017, they have had no problems with documents. The first difficulties they encountered after the birth of a child in 2018, when they were refused a birth certificate in a maternity hospital in Abu Dhabi. The couple went to court, but the lawsuit was also denied.

The couple tried to participate in the visa amnesty program and turned to the Indian Embassy for help. As a result, their efforts were successful - on April 14, for the first time in the history of the UAE, an exception was made to the rules, and the child received a birth certificate and was sent to his homeland - to Kerala.
