Dubai will not raise tuition fees in private schools

The Dubai Executive Council has decreed that tuition fees at the Emirate's private schools not be raised this school year.

The Dubai Executive Council on Wednesday, June 6, approved a decision not to increase tuition at all private schools in Dubai during the 2018-2019 school year. This step will reduce the financial burden on parents.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Board of Dubai, instructed the Office for Knowledge and Human Development to immediately take this decision and notify private schools and parents about it.

Dubai has also refused fees in 19 business sectors related to the aviation industry, with the goal of attracting more than a billion dirhams ($ US 272 million) in the aviation sector. This was announced on Wednesday. This move aims to turn Dubai into an international center for the aviation industry in accordance with the plans of Dubai 2021 and Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030.

During the meeting, the Council approved a package of rules aimed at reducing government fees that are related to incentive initiatives to promote economic growth in Dubai, in accordance with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and the ruler of Dubai. These measures are aimed at reducing the cost of doing business and increasing the attractiveness of Dubai as a major investment area.
