UAE Cabinet Adopts National Family Policy Program

At a meeting of the Cabinet of the UAE, the "National Family Policy Development Program" was adopted.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, adopted the National Family Policy Program aimed at strengthening families in the UAE in accordance with the UAE Strategy 2021.

This document was adopted during a meeting of the UAE Cabinet, which was attended by: Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Ibn Zayd Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Sheikh Mansur Ibn Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs.

The UAE government believes that the family is the foundation of a modern, united society.

"In the UAE, we adopted the National Family Policy Development Program, the purpose of which is to make families in our state stable and happy. National policy reflects the importance of the institution of the family for the state, because today it is the core of society," Sheikh Mohammed emphasized.

Sheikh Mohammed also instructed the government to coordinate with the relevant local and federal authorities to implement the provisions of the document and the projects adopted within its framework.

National policies are aimed at raising awareness of family rights and responsibilities in order to ensure their contribution to sustainable social development by creating and forming future families, contributing to the stability of family life for future generations. The program includes six components: marriage, family relations, balance of roles, child protection, family protection, and a new format for the provision of family services, which helps strengthen family relations.
