Dubai Realtors will be fined for spam

Dubai approved fines for real estate agencies for sending promotional SMS messages.

The Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) has announced fines for real estate agencies that advertise their offers via SMS and phone calls.

Authorities emphasized that such actions are strictly prohibited and may result in fines of up to 50 thousand dirhams ($ US 13.6 thousand).

RERA employees mention a recent case when a company that launched a project in Dubailand without a license to sell, offered investors to buy real estate. This company will be held accountable for its actions.

RERA in its message emphasized that companies should promote their proposals through approved channels: websites, newspapers, magazines, etc. Meanwhile, it is not yet clear whether the real estate agencies from Dubai are prohibited from sending advertisements via E-Mail and posting information on social networks.
