Residents of the United Arab Emirates will be able to take advantage of a 50 percent discount in major hypermarkets of the country throughout the month.
From March 20 to April 20 in the UAE hypermarkets there will be a 50 percent discount on goods. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Economy as part of World Happiness Day in collaboration with retailers.
This initiative increased the discount period to 51 days - the action began on March 1 as part of the 13th day of consumer protection in the Persian Gulf. Discounts include lower prices for 7.5 thousand product categories. 2 thousand of them can be found in Carrefour and Lulu stores.
Jaleel Holdings, a popular distributor of large retailers in the UAE, welcomed the government’s decision to offer discounts to consumers. Samir K. Mohammed, Managing Director of Jaleel Holdings, noted that people usually buy food for the future, and this initiative will be useful for planning for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
