A teacher from Dubai won a million

A teacher from Dubai won $ 272,000 in a lottery held by a UAE bank.

Amruta Joshi, who has been working in Dubai for the past 19 years, won the last lottery drawing from Commercial Bank International. Her prize amounted to 1 million dirhams ($ US272 thousand).

“I can’t describe my excitement from victory in words. At first I didn’t believe my luck and even asked my husband to call back to clarify the information. Prize money will help me realize the dream of my whole life - to provide my children with a decent education,” she said.

Jahirl Islam Kabir, a worker at an aluminum smelter in Dubai, won 100 thousand dirhams ($ US27 thousand) in the same draw in December. “Thanks to this money, I can provide my parents in Bangladesh,” Jahril said.
