In the UAE, a foreigner received a life sentence for drug smuggling

A UK citizen sentenced to life in prison in the United Arab Emirates for drug smuggling.

In the UAE, a 28-year-old woman from the UK was sentenced to life imprisonment for smuggling cannabis from her homeland for sale in the United Arab Emirates.

The 24-year-old emirate, whom the accused met through her husband, received a similar punishment for helping a criminal: he provided her with money and information about suppliers of prohibited substances. He was also sentenced to two years in prison for possession and use of drugs.

Three other defendants were convicted by the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court, and each of them was imprisoned for two years for drug use.
