Dubai police will not fine drivers for minor offenses this weekend.

Dubai, UAE. Dubai police will forgive drivers of minor violations committed during the long weekend, during which the 46th anniversary of the UAE will be celebrated. Instead of fines these days, motorists will receive text alerts on mobile phones.

According to Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, the commander of the Dubai Police, the objective of the action is to increase the level of happiness among motorists and encourage them to follow the rules of the road, even during big holidays. On the mobile phones of violators will also be requested to avoid future misconduct.

In particular, women with children will not be fined for improper parking for several minutes, if there were no free parking spaces nearby. Next weekend, Dubai will additionally patrol 600 police squads.

Meanwhile, earlier the police reported that for dangerous driving during the celebrations of the National Day of the UAE, a fine of 2,000 dirhams, 23 penalty points and confiscation of the car for 60 days will be imposed.
