Flydubai unveils new Boeing 737 MAX 8 at Dubai Airshow

Flydubai presents its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 at the Dubai Air Show.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 12, 2017: Dubai-based flydubai introduced the latest Boeing 737 MAX 8 at its Dubai Air Show, for the fifth time. This is the first board of the largest order for narrow-body Boeing aircraft placed at the Dubai Airshow 2013.

The new aircraft under registration number A6-MAX was the first of the 76 aircraft ordered from Boeing. The order will be delivered in full by 2023. Six sides of this model will join the flydubai fleet before the end of Q4 2017.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the flydubai board of directors, said: “The 2013 Dubai Airshow was historic, then we placed the largest order in the Middle East for this type of aircraft. The order was placed before the first commercial flight was carried out on this model aircraft, today we see how the plans come to life, and this is a new chapter in the success story of the Dubai aviation industry. Due to its efficiency and improved performance, this aircraft will play an important role l at a new stage in the development of flydubai. "

Commenting on the delivery of the MAX 8 aircraft, flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said: “We are completing our preparations and putting the finishing touches on the start of the new MAX 8 aircraft. These boards will increase the efficiency of our fleet and give it greater flexibility and improve productivity. Updating the fleet, we will be able to continue to implement our strategy to open new directions and offer our passengers an exceptional quality of services on board. "

At first, the airline will use the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 for flights to the most remote points of the route network. Among the first destinations are Bangkok, Yekaterinburg, Zanzibar and Prague. Airplanes from subsequent deliveries will replenish the fleet in the coming years and appear on most routes of the airline’s network.
