Two hundred people in Dubai will be able to register drones for free

At the Gitex Technology Exhibition, it was announced that it would be possible to obtain a license to control a drone in Dubai for free.

Owners of unmanned aerial vehicles in Dubai, who have not yet managed to get a license to control them, have the opportunity to do this for free, saving 350 dirhams ($ 95).

The announcement was made during the Gitex Technology Week by Dubai Police and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), which will host the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Forum thematic event this week.

Two hundred people who pre-registered as participants in the forum will be able to learn how to use drones for entertainment purposes for free, and also get the opportunity to conduct legal registration of a drone with the support of DCAA and Sanad Academy.

Butti Al Suwaydi, Director General of Dubai Police Operations, said the forum will focus on informing the public about the proper use of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as how to get permission to use drones.

Earlier this year, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, introduced a new fine for the unfair use of drones in the amount of from 1000 to 20 thousand dirhams ($ 272 - $ 5.4 thousand).
