Salute and Glory, path and celebration ...

IF YOU NOTICE, THE NUMBER OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE UAE CONSTANTLY GROWS. BRANCHES OF LEADING UNIVERSITIES OF THE WORLD OPEN IN ABU-DABI, AND IN DUBAI, AND IN SHARJA IN THE TERRITORY OF SPECIALIZED ACADEMGORODOK. THE QUALITY OF THE EDUCATION IN THE COUNTRY OF EDUCATION IS ALSO STEADY INCREASED. Emirates is confidently looking to the future, the truth, they still have a lot of work.

"The experience of communicating with foreign students will certainly be useful to the current generation of young emirates and residents from India, Pakistan, Europe and the CIS who are getting higher education in the UAE," His Highness Sheikh Nahayyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said in an interview with our correspondent, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a meeting with which took place on the eve of the grand opening of the new academic building of Sheikh Zayed University in Dubai.

The famous university, whose president is Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, solemnly celebrated its 10th anniversary in November 2007. The opening ceremony, which was held in the presence and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai, was attended by 11 ministers of higher education and science from all neighboring countries of the GCC.

“Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, ruler of Dubai has announced a multi-year strategic development plan for the country, within which issues related to higher education and scientific developments will be improved. We are well aware that the future of this country is not in oil reserves, but in qualified specialists who should grow out of young UAE citizens. We must have our own professional resources, progressive scientists who will continue all the work begun by us m generation, and lead the economy of the Emirates to new frontiers and achievements. It is for this that we must invest considerable funds in such areas as education and research, "Sheikh Nakhayyan added.

In the evening, a closed grandiose gala dinner was held on the territory of the Sheikh Zayed University, the program of which included a performance by the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra conducted by Igor Ponomarenko. The president of the university, Sheikh Nahayyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, first delivered a solemn speech to the audience, and then a concert of Russian musicians and vocalists began, accompanied by video effects, a laser show and fireworks. The concert of one of the best chamber ensembles in the world - the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, which is the State Hermitage’s own orchestra, was organized at the invitation of the Elena Von Heifen University, which traditionally introduces Dubai to unique musical groups from Russia.

As a rule, all the concerts held earlier in Dubai, organized by Ms. von Heifen, were held under the patronage of Sheikh Zayed University and in person. Therefore, we could not help asking His Highness the next question.

- Your Highness, you, as the president of Sheikh Zayed University, quite often act as a patron of unique concerts with the participation of famous Russian musicians such as guitarist Ivan Smirnov, the violin gypsy trio Loyko and other groups. Today it is the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra. What personally attracts you to Russian art?

- I'm attracted to any art. I initiated the creation of the Abu Dhabi Foundation for Culture and Art. We are trying to present in the UAE the most talented musicians, artists, singers, cultural figures from different countries, including Russia, where there are a lot of talented and not always well-known performers. I believe that today's world has become very small, and we need to get to know each other better. Art and culture, in my opinion, is the shortest way to comprehend how your neighbors live and breathe.

The St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra was created in 1988 by Saulius Sondeskis. The collective includes 51 musicians and 20 vocalists. St. Petersburg musicians began their performance at the Galauzin with the composition The Salute ("Salute" or "Greetings"), designed to pay tribute to the first president of the UAE - Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose name was named one of the first universities in the country. The next song sounded was The Glory, glorifying the amazing architecture of the new university campus, more like a huge silver submarine accidentally lost in Arabian sand. The third play was symbolically called The Journey (“The Way”) and sounded the accompaniment to a large-scale television film created within the walls of Sheikh Zayed University and demonstrating all the stages of the development of this university, its achievements and how dreams become reality. The final composition was the play The Celebration, accompanied by unprecedented fireworks, laser effects and moving graphics, bright flashes and broken lines cutting through the dark blue sky of Dubai. The mood of all those gathered could be described in a nutshell - pure delight!

Happy birthday to you, university! Many summers. May the salute and glory, the path and the celebration always be with you ...
