Dubai police respond to 9 out of 10 calls in less than 12 minutes

The average time for processing urgent calls by the Dubai police is less than 12 minutes.

During the second quarter, Dubai patrols responded to 90% of emergency calls on average for 11 minutes and 37 seconds. In other cases, 90% of applications were processed in 14 minutes and 48 seconds.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, praised the work of the Dubai Police Chief Rapid Response Directorate towards achieving the goal of handling 90% of urgent calls within 15 minutes.

He also praised the Incident Reporting Service, which allows applicants to record evidence of minor incidents without the need to call the police.

Al-Marri said the service has achieved high results through public relations. He also praised the outstanding results achieved by the rapid response in implementing programs, as well as in simplifying procedures for citizens.

According to official figures, the police emergency number (999) made 808,199 phone calls in the second quarter of this year, compared with 665,252 calls for the same period last year. The number 901 was contacted 60,036 times compared to 46,470 in the second quarter of 2016.
