The educational organization GEMS sets a new record, gathering the largest number of representatives of different nationalities, simultaneously singing the national anthem.
In honor of the 43rd National Day of the UAE, the international educational company GEMS brought together 100,000 people to perform the UAE anthem. This patriotic achievement was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, as the largest collection of representatives of various nationalities performing the national anthem.
The record was set at the GEMS Wellington Academy in Dubai, where representatives of 119 nationalities performed in unison the national anthem of the UAE.
Each GEMS school in the UAE sent a group of students to participate in the event. In more than 40 GEMS schools throughout the United Arab Emirates, an attempt to set a record was broadcast live. After the record was officially set, Amal Al-Bayari, Director of Public Relations at GEMS took the floor:
"Today's record is a celebration of the unity of such different people, because today, in a single rush, the UAE's national anthem was performed by representatives of 119 out of 200 nationalities for which the UAE has become the home."
