Tap water in the UAE can be drunk without harm to health

Specialists of the environmental group in the UAE at the eighth environmental conference concluded that tap water in the Emirates is absolutely safe to drink and residents should not rely on bottled drinking water.

Conference participants discussed the problems and tasks of using water resources in the Middle East, in particular, the ratio of water consumption by the population and its production. One of the main issues of discussion was the dependence of many residents of the UAE on bottled water. The group chairman expressed concern about the fact that many mistakenly believe that tap water is not suitable for human consumption for drinking and cooking. Demand for bottled water in the UAE remains high, despite the fact that all water in the Emirates is desalinated. The desalination process of sea water is very laborious, expensive and requires high energy costs.

In the United Arab Emirates, as well as in other countries of the Persian Gulf, the level of consumption of water resources is very high, while the natural reserves of fresh water in this region are insignificant. This imbalance is becoming a real problem in the United Arab Emirates.
