Emirate tycoon bought English Portsmouth

The well-known emirate tycoon Suleiman Al-Fahim has successfully completed the acquisition of the Portsmouth English Premier League football club, despite the fact that many doubted the success of the event.

Living in the capital of the UAE, the city of Abu Dhabi, the 32-year-old entrepreneur became the sole owner of Portsmouth, which last showed good results in 2008, winning the FA Cup. Earlier, the owner of the club was Alexander Gaydamak, the son of a well-known businessman of Russian origin Arkady Gaydamak. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Al-Fahim is expected to hold a press conference in the UK to announce the deal and plans for the club’s future.

The representative of Al-Fahim - Ivo Ilic Gabara confirmed that all the papers were signed, and the transaction entered into force. This was also confirmed by a representative of the Portsmouth football club. Both sides expressed confidence that the transition of the club to new hands will positively affect its position in the Premier League and other football championships.
