Dubai authorities delayed the decision to reduce speed limits on leading routes

The Dubai Committee for Roads and Transport has postponed a decision to reduce speed limits on the main routes of the emirate.

Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Committee for Roads and Transport has postponed the decision to reduce speed limits on the emirate's main routes - E311 and E611, announced yesterday. The department said that the issues of reducing speed from 120 km / h to 110 km / h are only being discussed, despite the fact that they initially said that the measure would be taken for security reasons.

It should be noted that the Muhammad bin Zayed (E311) and Emirates Road (E611) highways remain the most emergency routes in the emirate: only during the first two months of this year, 10 people died on the roads of Dubai, five of which on Emirates Road.

Authorities continue to fight violations. So, in the police district of Rashidiya, an additional 12 radars will be installed to record speed limits in the areas of Mirdif, Al Warka, Al Twar, Umm Ramul, Nad Al Hamar and others.
