UAE opens humanitarian aid bridge for refugees

The President of the UAE ordered the uninterrupted supply of warm clothes, products and other necessities to be given to adversity refugees from Syria.

The United Arab Emirates opens an air bridge to deliver humanitarian supplies to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan. The temperature in a number of refugee resettlement areas in Lebanon and Jordan drops below zero, there is freezing rain and snowfall, while millions of refugees live in tents, often without heating. In Lebanon alone, about one and a half million refugees from Syria currently live, representing about a quarter of the Lebanese population.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has appealed to all companies and state organizations of the country, its citizens and residents, to take part in a campaign to raise funds and essential goods for sending to refugees. His appeal was supported by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The refugee relief campaign will be led by a working group consisting of charitable organizations such as the UAE Red Crescent Society, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Fund, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charitable Foundation, International Humanitarian City, and the charity "Dubai Cares".
