New Players at Dubai Tourism Market

On September 21-24, 2010, at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center, the 16th international tourist exhibition "Leisure / Leisure-2010" was held as part of the Moscow International Autumn Week of Travel Industry Professionals MATIW-2010. The organizers of the week were EUROEXPO LLC (MOSCOW) and EUROEXPO EXHIBITIONS & CONGRESS DEVELOPMENT GMBH (VIENNA). The official opening ceremony, which took place in the lobby of the first pavilion of Crocus Expo, was attended by: Nazina N. Deputy Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation N. A. Nazina noted the significance of the exhibition for the development of the tourism industry in our country: "Over the 16-year history of the exhibition" REST "has found good traditions that help the tourism industry in Russia to develop steadily." The head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, A. I. Yarochkin, also emphasized the uniqueness of the exhibition, which "provides ample opportunities for establishing cooperation, exchanging experience and raising the level of skills and creative initiative of industry professionals." In 2010, the total exhibition area was 23,000 square meters. meters, which is 27% more than the area of ​​the exhibition last year.

The increase in the number of participants and visitors was also noted by the exhibitors themselves. The exhibition "REST / Leisure 2010" occupied as many as three halls, in which 1205 companies from 110 countries and regions presented tourist products and services to visitors. Over 4 days, the exhibition was visited by more than 68 thousand people, and the number of unique visitors to specialists increased by 40%. One of the main objectives of the exhibition was the promotion of Russian resorts on the international market. This year, the number of regions that presented their tourism opportunities and programs at the exhibition has significantly increased. In total, 30 regions of Russia took part in the exhibition. The role of the state and its influence on the tourism industry is growing every year, and the largest market operators had a unique opportunity to establish business-government relations directly at the exhibition. At their booth, representatives of the Federal Agency for Tourism and its departments during 4 days of the exhibition actively worked with both participants and visitors, informing them of state policy on the development of the tourism industry in Russia. The Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation presented a large selection of hotel, health and sanatorium complexes. The expositions of the Russian regions and the RF UDP showed that holidays in Russia are becoming more and more popular and can be comfortable and well organized.

International tourism was represented by 74 countries. Many exhibitors expanded their exhibits, while others, for example, Seychelles, Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Panama, Jamaica and Belarus took part in the exhibition for the first time.

Among the participating countries were: Australia, Andorra, Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Hong Kong, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Israel, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Spain, Italy, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan , China, Cuba, Latvia, Mauritius, Maldives, Malta, Morocco, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, USA, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia , Turkey, Ukraine, Philippines, France, Czech Republic, Chile, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, South Afri and Japan, and others.

Annually, the largest Russian tour operators and companies take part in the Leisure / Leisure exhibition, which determine new destinations, programs and prices for the winter season. Among them are NTK Intourist, Natalie Tours, Lanta-Tour Voyage, S7, TEZ TOUR, Academservice, Breeze Line, Transaero Tour, Solveks, Neva, Southern Cross "," KMPGrupp "," Coral Travel "," Capital Tour "," Asent Travel ", ICS, BSI, TT-VKO," Spectrum Avia "," Astravel "," Tui Mostravel Russia "and many others. Some large companies paid special attention to the development of new tourist products in the emirate, given the increased number of carriers and the frequency of flights from different cities of Russia to the UAE. The business program was, as always, very eventful. For four days, guests of the exhibition could attend seminars, visiting sessions and presentations.

At the opening gala, the exhibition organizers awarded everyone who made a significant contribution to the development of the exhibition and the tourism industry as a whole. Among them are the strategic partner Otdykh / Leisure NTK Intourist, the sponsor of Egypt Day Natalie Tours, the sponsor of the postal service Lanta Tour Voyage, the official air carrier of the exhibition is S7 Airlines, and a number of other companies. The highlight of Leisure was Egypt Day, which was organized by Natalie Tours on September 22. This day was quite stressful for all visitors - new programs, price offers and a press conference from Natalie Tours and the Egyptian National Tourist Office in Moscow, the opening and presentation of Egypt Day. In the evening, the Egyptian Night party was held for Natalie Tours partners, where tickets to this country were raffled off among the guests.

The United Arab Emirates was represented at the exhibition by the stands of departments and tourism departments of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Fujairah. Especially for the exhibition, the Russian Emirates Publishing House commissioned the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of the Government of Dubai to republish the complete "Dubai Hotel Directory 2010", supplemented by information on newly opened hotels and apartments in this emirate. The new hotel catalog aroused great interest among professionals in the Russian tourism industry.

Euroexpo, the organizer of Leisure, has made every effort to make the work of participants and visitors even more effective. On the territory of the exhibition pavilions there was a press center, courier postal services, and Internet access. This year, the exhibition "Rest / Leisure" once again confirmed the status of the main event of the fall for the tourism industry in Russia. The tourism industry is developing very rapidly, so the organizers of the exhibition are sure: next year "Leisure" will become even larger.
