Tourist Court and Prosecutor's Office Established in Abu Dhabi

The first of its kind, a tourist court and prosecutor’s office were established in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai, UAE. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Presidential Relations and Chairman of the Legal Department of Abu Dhabi, has issued a decision to establish a tourism prosecutor's office and court in the emirate’s capital.

The creation of the world's first structure of this kind is part of the efforts of the Abu Dhabi government to increase economic competitiveness and the sustainable development of the tourism industry, as well as a strategy to achieve the goal of becoming one of the five best governments in the world. In particular, the development of legal infrastructure is part of a program to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil resources.

As adviser Yousef Saeed Al Abri noted, this development also meets the needs of a growing Abu Dhabi society. He also emphasized the importance of providing quality services in the tourism sector, one of the engines of the Abu Dhabi economy, and noted that the court will actively cooperate with all state organizations to ensure the provision of services at the level of international standards.
