Museum of the Union opened for $ 136 million at the place of UAE formation

At the Union House in Dubai, the rulers of the United Arab Emirates gathered to open the grand Union Museum.

UAE top officials gathered Friday at the Union House in Dubai, at the same place where the founders of a federal state met 45 years ago to sign a historic agreement, to open a new $ 136 million Etihad Museum. The attraction was launched as part of the celebration. 45th National Day of the country.

Leaders, including the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Ajman, Sheikh Humeyd bin Rashid Al-Rahid Al-Din Muhammad Al Sharqi, ruler of Umm al-Quwain Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, ruler of Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Sakr bin Saud Al Qasimi, noted that under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the country is experiencing “the brightest period in its stories ”, possessing competitive in the world market economy and developed infrastructure.

The rulers also promised the inhabitants of the country to continue work to further strengthen the unity of the UAE. They examined the new museum, which includes a new flagpole 123 m high, as well as a number of already open exhibitions. The Etihad Museum consists of eight permanent galleries in addition to one temporary, including exhibits from international museums.

The museum in Jumeirah is dedicated to the history of the country's development from the time preceding the formation of the union, to subsequent periods.

The entrance to the new pavilion is made in the form of a manuscript with seven columns that symbolize the pen used to sign the agreement.

The project also includes the restored House of the Union and the House of Ministers in their original place.

On Friday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and other rulers of the UAE hoisted the flag of the country in the same historical place where the founders did it 45 years ago.
