From April 1, 2012, the visa application process and the Emirates ID in Dubai will be combined

The Arab Emirates Identification Authority (EIDA) has confirmed that the Dubai authorities will combine obtaining residence visas (Residence Visa) and national identification cards from April 1, 2012.

According to EIDA, registration for obtaining an identity card when obtaining or renewing a resident visa is already mandatory in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm al-Kuwain and Ras al-Khaimah. In addition, during 2011, EIDA opened six new registration and medical centers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. Thus, by the end of this year, a total of 26 centers will operate in the UAE.

The location of the new centers in Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah has not yet been determined, however, in Dubai they will be located in areas such as Al Quoz, Satwa and SEZ Jebel Ali, in Abu Dhabi - in Al Jazira. The center in Al Quoz will be able to register 700 people a day, Satwa - 1000 people, the SEZ Jebel Ali - 250 people.
